What do you get on Talkie for free?
A daily allowance with ads. Talkie does not publish its free limits, but its app shows daily caps on chats, rerolls and suggested replies, plus an energy meter you refill by waiting, watching an ad or subscribing, according to The Companion List, which read the app's own text. Most 2026 reviews put the free chat cap at about 50 messages a day, though some messages in the app mention 20 or 30.
Talkie+ removes the ads and the chat cap. On the iPhone App Store in September 2026, Talkie+ Standard cost $9.99 a month and Pro $24.99 a month, and gems for extras are sold on top. Google Play lists in app purchases from $0.49 to $199.99 per item.
Nodera gives every account 500 credits a day, with no ads and no energy meter: about 100 messages, or fewer messages plus pictures at 5 credits each. There is no paid plan during the beta, so the daily credits are the limit for everyone.
How long does Talkie keep your chats?
On the free plan, only recent chats sync. Talkie's app says that only chat records from a set number of past days can be synchronized and that a paid plan adds more cloud storage days. Reviews report 60 days on the free plan, and say older chats become hard to reach unless you sync them in time. Talkie's own FAQ adds that memory is "technically limited", so characters forget older conversations.
On Nodera there is no time limit on chat history. Your chats stay in your account, on every device you sign in on, until you delete them. You can delete a chat (its messages and memories go with it), wipe your chat history from the cloud, or delete your whole account at any time.
Memory works separately from storage. Characters remember your name, what you told them and the moments that mattered, from one day to the next, on every device. Up to the last 16 messages go word for word with every reply, and older moments are saved as memories they recall when they matter. Each chat keeps its own memory, so a new chat with the same character starts fresh.
What content does Talkie allow?
Talkie is built to stay safe for work. Its FAQ says pornographic and violent content are prohibited, and its community guidelines, updated January 24, 2025, ban explicit sexual content and suggestive undertones too. Characters that break the rules can be hidden pending review, and reviewers report accounts banned with little explanation.
Talkie is also open to younger users: Google Play rates the Android app Teen.
Nodera takes the other approach on both points. It is for adults 18 and over only, and romance and mature roleplay with adult characters marked 18+ are allowed once you confirm you are 18 or older, within our safety rules. Some things are never allowed, including anything sexual involving minors or characters who look or act like minors, and characters of real people without their consent. More on that in adult AI chat on Nodera.
Can you call a character on Talkie or Nodera?
On Talkie, yes. On Nodera, no. Talkie offers voice calls with characters, and reviews report a two minute limit per call on the free plan and ten minutes on Talkie+. If talking out loud is what you want most, Talkie is the better choice today.
Nodera has voice without calls. Tap listen on a character's reply to hear it in their voice, chosen from 22 voices, for 5 credits a listen. Or ask a character for a 10 minute audio story written around you, which they tell in first person, for 500 credits. Women who want to hear a man's voice first can start with romance audio stories.
Is Talkie on the iPhone App Store?
Yes, under another name. The original Talkie app left the US App Store in December 2024, and Talkie blamed technical reasons, as the South China Morning Post reported at the time. On iPhone it now appears as Talkie Lab, from the same company, SUBSUP, which we found in the US App Store on November 5, 2026. On Android it is still called Talkie, and there is a website.
Nodera has no store app at all. It runs in Safari or Chrome, and you can add it to your home screen in a few taps.
