What does Nodera allow for adults?
Romance and mature roleplay with fictional adult characters, once you confirm you are 18 or older. Mature content needs a character marked 18+ and the 18+ content setting, which comes on when you confirm your age.
- One to one chat with characters marked 18+, from slow burn romance to mature roleplay, at 5 credits a message.
- Your own characters. Create an 18+ character and keep it private, or publish it. Public characters are reviewed before anyone else sees them.
- Pictures of a chat moment, mature ones included when the character is marked 18+, for 5 credits in any of 73 art styles. Animate one into a 5 second clip for 25 credits.
- 18+ rooms, group chats with up to two characters, where everyone in the room has confirmed they are 18 or older and kept 18+ content on.
- Spicy audio stories, the adult story mode, written for you and read aloud: 10 minutes for 500 credits, or 5 minutes for 250.
All of it is free during the beta: 500 credits a day, about 100 messages, no card. Adult content costs the same credits as everything else.
What is never allowed, even for adults?
A short list of things is never allowed for anyone, whatever a character, a prompt or a setting says. Each rule is backed by a check somewhere in the app, and the table shows where.

Some of these checks use AI models, and they can be wrong in both directions. When the minors check cannot run, it refuses the turn rather than letting it through. If you see something that breaks these rules, report it from the chat or room menu.
How does Nodera confirm I am 18?
By your own declaration. The first time you open Nodera it asks whether you are 18 or older, and your answer is the check: there is no ID upload, selfie or face scan.
If you say you are under 18, you cannot use Nodera. If you confirm you are an adult, the 18+ content setting comes on, and you can turn it off in Settings whenever you like, which hides adult characters, conversations and rooms. A visitor who chats without an account gets safe for work chat only, and rooms of any kind are for adults who have confirmed their age.
A lighter check than some apps use
Character.AI asks every user to complete an age check run by Persona. ChatGPT predicts age from account signals and asks flagged users for a selfie or ID. JanitorAI runs k-ID age checks in Australia, Brazil and the UK. Nodera relies on your declaration, and we would rather say so plainly.
Which AI chat apps allow NSFW roleplay?
Of the four apps we checked on November 5, 2026, JanitorAI allows adult text roleplay on bots tagged Limitless, and Candy.ai is marketed for adult chat. ChatGPT and Character.AI do not allow sexual content for anyone.

Rules change often, so read each app's own pages before you rely on this table. Where an app's pages were silent, we say so instead of guessing.
Another app may suit you better if
- You want no adult content at all: ChatGPT and Character.AI keep every chat safe for work, and both have App Store and Play Store apps.
- You want a stronger age check than a declaration: Character.AI checks every user.
- You want voice calls, or to bring your own model or API key: Nodera has neither.
Nodera may suit you if
- You are an adult and want romance and mature roleplay with adult characters, under rules written down in full.
- You want pictures of the moment, mature ones included, that never leave the app, and 5 second clips.
- You want characters who remember you from one day to the next, on every device, with 10 relationship levels.

Where do mature pictures go?
Nowhere outside the app. Pictures you make in a one to one chat are private to you, and the links that load them are signed and expire.
Characters marked 18+ never show their images on public search pages, and when someone shares one, the preview is blurred. In an 18+ room, a mature picture loads only for members who have confirmed they are 18 or older and kept 18+ content on. Nodera has no photo uploads, so every picture is drawn from a description, never from a real photo.

Which AI chat app allows NSFW?

ChatGPT and Character.AI do not allow sexual content for anyone. Every one of them keeps hard limits, so read the rules before you start.
Does Nodera have limits for adults?
Yes. Nodera allows mature roleplay between adult characters, but some things are never allowed: sexual content with minors or childlike characters, sexual violence, real people without their consent, sexual content with animals and anything that encourages self harm. The minors rule and the picture checks run on our server, where no character or prompt can turn them off.
Does Nodera check ID for adult content?
No. Age is confirmed by your own declaration when you first open the app, and there is no ID upload, selfie or face scan. If you say you are under 18, you cannot use Nodera.
Does adult content cost extra?
No. Everything costs the same credits: 5 a message and 5 a picture. Nodera is free during the beta, with 500 credits a day and no card.
Can I make an 18+ character of a real person or a celebrity?
No. Characters that show a real person without their consent are rejected at review or taken down, and stories never use real or famous people. Make an original adult character instead.
Can I keep adult content out of my feed?
Yes. Turn off 18+ content in Settings, and adult characters, conversations and rooms are hidden. You can turn it back on at any time, since you already confirmed you are 18 or older.
