How do I make my own AI girlfriend?
Sign in, tap Create, go through nine short screens, and Nodera writes her in about a minute. These are the steps in the app as of November 2026.
Choose how to build her
Tap Create. Build it here has Nodera write her for 200 credits, charged when you generate. Use your own AI has your ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini write her for free. Both start with the same questions.
Pick a starting point
Choose a kind of bond, such as Slow Burn Romance, Instant Spark, Enemies to Lovers, Familiar Comfort or Ride or Die, or pick Custom to start from scratch. Every choice after this can be changed.
Answer the questions
Who she is to you, how warm she is when you meet, how fast it grows, her personality, her world and the heat. Each screen is a few taps, and Looks good, skip to review jumps ahead.
Tell the app about her
On About them, give her a name (or let the AI pick one), describe her in your own words, and add her setting, what she wants most and the private truth that anchors her. Leave a box empty to use the suggestion.
Generate, then give her a face
Tap Generate character. The studio opens on a private draft: edit anything, generate her portrait for 5 credits and pick her voice.
What can I choose about her?
The relationship, her personality, her world and how far the romance goes, then the details in your own words. These are the options the creator shows.

After she is generated, the studio lets you change every part: her backstory, opening scene, what she reveals at each level, how she speaks, and her voice from 22 options.
Can ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini build her for me?
Yes. Choose Use your own AI, answer the same questions, and Nodera builds a prompt you paste into your own ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. You paste its reply back, the app checks it and opens her in the studio. It costs no credits. The step by step guide shows every screen.

How do I give her a face?
In the studio you describe her look, or use the visual builder, pick one of 73 art styles or describe your own, and generate her portrait for 5 credits. Her later pictures reuse that look, so she stays recognizable.
- Describe her in your own words (up to 1,800 characters), or let the studio draft a look from her character first.
- The age setting in the builder starts at 18. Every character on Nodera is an adult.
- Photo uploads are off. You cannot upload a photo, and every picture is generated in the app.
Can I keep her private, or publish her?
Both. She starts as a draft only you can see. Just for me keeps her private and needs only a name. Public puts her in Explore for others to chat with, after a review, and earns you 1,000 credits the first time she is approved.
- To go public she needs a portrait, a one line premise and an opening scene. The app tells you what is missing.
- The 1,000 credit reward is paid once per character, when the review approves her, and those credits do not expire. It is credits only, never money.
- Once approved, your edits go live without a new review. You can make her private again at any time.
- You can download her as a .json file from the studio menu, as a backup or to make a copy later.
Will she remember me and grow closer?
Yes, within limits. She reads your recent messages word for word and saves what you tell her, like your name, your work and the things you share, as memories she recalls when they come up again, on any device you sign in on. Your relationship grows over 10 levels, and what she shares about herself opens up as you go. How her memory works explains what she keeps and what she can forget.
What are the rules?
The rules are short and they apply to every character, private or public. Once you confirm you are 18 or older, romance and mature roleplay with adult characters marked 18+ are allowed, within our safety rules. The 18+ content setting comes on when you confirm, and you can turn it off in Settings.
- Adults only. You must be 18 or over, and she must be an adult who looks and acts like one.
- No real people. No celebrities, exes, coworkers or anyone real, and no photos of real people. Uploads are off for that reason.
- The safety floor. Never allowed, for anyone: sexual content involving minors or characters who look or act like minors, sexual violence or sex without consent, characters or pictures of real people without their consent, sexual content with animals, and anything that encourages self harm.
- Private stays private. Other people never see your chats. Public characters are reviewed before they appear in Explore.
Can I bring a character I made on Character.AI or JanitorAI?
Not as a file yet: a "bring your character" importer is being built. Today you can recreate a character you made in minutes by giving its text to your own AI through Use your own AI. This guide has the exact steps and a prompt to copy.
Character.AI's terms say that, as between you and Character.AI, you own the characters you create there. Bring only characters you made, or ones whose creator agrees.
What stays behind
Your old chats, memories and relationship progress do not move. Your character starts fresh with you, and you generate a new portrait, because avatars cannot be uploaded.
Is Nodera the right place to make her?
It depends on what matters to you.
Look elsewhere if you want
- A native iPhone or Android app. Nodera is a web app you can add to your home screen.
- Voice calls. You can hear her replies, but you cannot call her.
- To run her on your own model or API key.
- Her look from an uploaded photo.
- No daily limit on free messages. Nodera's free credits cover about 100 messages a day.

Questions people ask
Is it free to create an AI girlfriend on Nodera?
Yes, during the beta. Every account gets 500 free credits a day with no card. Having Nodera write her costs 200 credits, the Use your own AI path costs nothing, and her portrait costs 5.
How long does it take?
The questions take a few minutes and generating her takes about a minute. Then you add her portrait in the studio and start chatting.
Can I make her look like a real person or upload a photo?
No. Nodera does not allow characters based on real, identifiable people, and photo uploads are turned off. You describe her look and the app generates it.
Can I change her after she is made?
Yes. The studio lets you edit her backstory, opening scene, personality, what she reveals at each level, her look and her voice. Edits to an approved public character go live straight away.
Can other people chat with her?
Only if you publish her as Public and she passes review, which puts her in Explore. Drafts and private characters stay out of Explore and the feed, and nobody else ever sees your chats with her.
Can I import my Character.AI or JanitorAI character?
Not as a file yet: a "bring your character" importer is being built. You can recreate a character you made in minutes with your own ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Your old chats and memories do not move.
Is there an app to download?
No. Nodera is a web app at app.nodera.ai that works in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen. There is no App Store or Play Store app.
