Sakura.fm alternative

A Sakura.fm alternative where memory is not a paid plan

Short answer

Sakura.fm is free with a daily message limit it does not publish, then $19 a month for unlimited messages and better memory, or $39 for its top model, images and what it calls Infinite Memory. Nodera is free during its beta: 500 credits a day, about 100 messages, with lasting memory for every account.

How does Sakura.fm's daily message limit work?

Free accounts can send a limited number of messages a day, and Sakura does not publish the number. Its pricing page offers two ways past it: apply for free messages, or pay.

  • Sage, free. The pricing page invites you to "Apply for Sakura Sage by supporting the Sakura community on social media platforms", then apply in its Discord for free messages.
  • Diamond, $19 a month, removes the limit: "No daily message limit."
  • How far a free day goes. A review that tested every tier in July 2026 found the free limit ran out after about 15 minutes of active roleplay and reset at midnight UTC. We could not confirm a message count.

What do Sakura.fm's paid plans add?

More messages first, then memory and images. Paying yearly saves about 40%, Sakura says.

From sakura.fm/buy and its App Store listing, checked November 5, 2026. US dollar prices.
PlanPriceWhat it adds
Free$0Chat up to a daily message limit.
Diamond$19 a month or $131.99 a yearUnlimited messages, the Dragonfruit model ("better memory and vivid responses"), and Fusion Mode for several replies to each message.
Infinite$39 a month or $274.99 a yearThe Glowing Dragonfruit model with images, what Sakura calls Infinite Memory, and everything in Diamond.

The App Store also lists a Sakura+ Gold purchase for $5, which we could not find on the website.

How good is Sakura.fm's memory?

Sakura sells memory as an upgrade. Diamond promises better memory, and Infinite says "Your characters will Never Forget the Moments you share together." A review that tested all three tiers in July 2026 found details starting to slip after about 20 to 30 turns, and said Infinite helps without fixing it.

Nodera gives every account the same memory, free. A character reads up to the last 16 messages word for word and saves the moments that matter as memories it recalls later, from one day to the next and on any device. Your relationship grows over 10 levels that unlock new pictures. It is not perfect either: small details can slip in a long story, and it will not recall every line.

How do Sakura.fm and Nodera compare?

Both have a free daily limit. Sakura sells its way out of the limit; Nodera publishes the limit and puts everything inside it.

Checked November 5, 2026 against each app's own pages. Sakura memory figures from one dated review.

Can I bring character cards to Nodera like on Sakura.fm?

Not yet, and that is a real gap. Sakura's creator has an Import Character button that takes "a JSON or image file" in "many formats", or text you paste. Nodera cannot read card files today. A "bring your character" importer is being built.

Until it ships, you can recreate a character you made in minutes. Copy its description, personality and greeting, choose Use your own AI in Nodera's creator, paste the text, and let the AI chat you already use write the character. Every screen is in how to build a character with ChatGPT. Your Sakura chats stay on Sakura, and characters must be clearly adult: Nodera does not allow characters who are or look like minors.

What does Nodera do that Sakura.fm does not?

It puts a number on the free day and spends it on more than text.

  • A published daily allowance. 500 credits, about 100 messages, the same for every account, with no application to fill in.
  • Pictures and clips. Any chat moment as a picture in one of 73 art styles for 5 credits, animated into a 5 second clip for 25.
  • Chat voice. Tap any reply to hear it in one of 22 voices.
  • Audio stories. A 10 minute story written around what you pick and read aloud, for 500 credits.
  • Rooms. Two characters in one chat who talk to you and to each other.

The catch: Nodera has a daily limit too. When the credits run out you wait for the refill, unused credits expire after 24 hours, and there is no plan to buy more during the beta.

When is Sakura.fm the better choice?

When cards, apps or unlimited messages matter more than what is free.

Stay with Sakura.fm if

  • You want to import character cards today.
  • You want unlimited messages and will pay $19 a month for them.
  • You want an app from the App Store or Google Play.
  • You like its community and its Discord route to free messages.

Try Nodera if

  • You want lasting memory on a free account.
  • You want to know exactly how much you get free each day.
  • You want pictures, animation, voice and audio stories.
  • You want two characters in one room who talk to each other.

Nodera's honest limits for a Sakura user: there is no app in the App Store or Google Play, and no Import Character button yet, so a card has to be rebuilt by hand. It is a beta, so replies can be slow at busy times, and there are no voice calls and no bring your own model. Age is confirmed at a gate where you state you are 18 or older.

Questions people ask

How many free messages does Sakura.fm give a day?

Sakura does not publish the number. Its pricing page only says free accounts have a daily message limit, and a July 2026 review found it ran out after about 15 minutes of active roleplay. You can apply in its Discord for free messages, or pay $19 a month for Diamond to remove the limit.

Does Nodera have a daily limit too?

Yes. Every account gets 500 credits a day, about 100 messages if you only chat, and pictures, voice and stories come out of the same credits. Unused credits expire after 24 hours, and there is no card and no paid plan during the beta.

Can I import my Sakura.fm characters into Nodera?

Not as a file yet. You can recreate a character you made in a few minutes through the creator's Use your own AI path, and a "bring your character" importer is being built. Chats do not carry over.

Is Sakura.fm for adults?

Its terms say you must be over 18. Mature characters are hidden behind a setting that is off until you switch it on.

Does Nodera allow adult roleplay?

Yes, for adults. Once you confirm you are 18 or older, romance and mature roleplay with adult characters marked 18+ are allowed, within our safety rules. The 18+ content setting comes on when you confirm, and you can turn it off in Settings. Never allowed, for anyone: sexual content involving minors or characters who look or act like minors, sexual violence or sex without consent, characters or pictures of real people without their consent, sexual content with animals, and anything that encourages self harm.

Who runs Sakura.fm?

Its terms name Sakura AI, LLC of Jacksonville, Florida. Nodera is an independent app and is not affiliated with it.
